GIMS Upgrade
Starting Point
Statement of CETIN
"The GIMS system upgrade was completed successfully and delivered the expected functional and performance improvements. We appreciate the professional approach of the Unicorn Systems HSI team and the cooperation throughout the implementation. Despite a minor delay caused by three-party collaboration with the Dutch company Geostruct, we consider the project beneficial and the final outcome fully aligned with our needs."

Our Solution
New Functionalities
InfraMap Styling introduces advanced map styling capabilities, including the use of multiple styles within a single layer and the creation of parallel lines. Autocluster 5 delivers modern, optimised clustering with improved performance and gradually replaces the previous Autocluster 4 version. Another major enhancement is the PDF Reporter, which allows user-defined report configuration, including legends, map windows, and map cut-outs.
The Pathlink Builder provides a modern approach to working with OSM data without the need for an on-premise solution, increasing data freshness and eliminating duplications. The Toffee Wrapper offers a visual representation of ducts along main routes, with options for further configuration and future development.
Advanced Tools and Reporting
The new version of GIMS delivers a wide range of tools focused on LLD and planning, such as the Branch tool for matrix handling, Multi-Dwelling Units tools for planning customer connections in buildings, and the Splicesheet Builder for report configuration. Additional implemented features include Network Export, Area BoM tool, Network Organiser, and an enhanced InfraDiagram. A significant improvement is also brought by new Fieldwork applications, optimised for technicians working in the field, supporting surveying and service interventions.
Technological Benefits
The technological platform has been upgraded to the current .NET 8 framework and MSSQL 2022 database, resulting in increased performance, enhanced security, improved development support, and access to regular updates and patches. The new architecture enables better extensibility and readiness for further innovation, while long-term vendor support is guaranteed.
Conclusion
The GIMS system upgrade has delivered substantial improvements for CETIN, a. s. in both technological and user experience areas. New functionalities, enhanced security, and improved performance provide a modern working environment, particularly for Planning and Strategy teams. GIMS is now fully prepared for future development.
