GIS Upgrade Project
Unicorn Systems HSI, in cooperation with partners NTT Data and ICT ČEZ (information and communication technologies of the ČEZ Group), completed an upgrade of GIS (Geographic Information System) technology from ESRI in the RMS DPOINT system, which is used by ČEZ Distribuce for the management and recording of the distribution network.

Our Solution
The goal of the project was to upgrade the platform to the new versions of ArcGIS Enterprise (AGE) 10.9.1 and ArcFM 10.8.1c. The reason was the approaching end of support for the older version of ArcGIS Server Enterprise 10.8.1, which is planned for August 2026. A timely upgrade ensured continued customer support, implementation of security updates, and stable system operation.
The project was launched in November 2025, and a significant part of the activities took place during December. The production deployment was successfully implemented during a weekend shutdown at the turn of February and March 2026 to minimize the impact on users.
The implementation included upgrading ESRI versions on several servers in the test and production environments, modifying data structures, and migrating data. The team also rebuilt the affected server and desktop components and tested them.
