Esri ArcGIS Enterprise Implementation
replication line designed to receive, process, and send CDSw data to ArcGIS Enterprise.
Starting Point
The main objective of this project has been the deployment of the Esri ArcGIS Enterprise software platform in TSK’s environment. The platform is used in two principal ways: to store data sent by a replication line from the existing GIS solution, CDSw, and to let you quickly generate attractive, modern web-based mapping applications.
Accessible from TSK’s website, such applications are currently used to share information on summer and winter maintenance of roads and sidewalks and on communication structures and ground lots under TSK’s management with the general public.

robust platform for presentation of geospatial data to the general public. Its mapping applications,
Summer and Winter Maintenance of Roads, Sidewalks, and Communication Structures, and
Ground Lots Managed by TSK provide relevant information to the general public simply and understandably. Also, some parts of the old system were kept, as a replication line was
developed to retrieve data from our existing CDSw system, to be used by ArcGIS Enterprise,
which now provides a presentation layer. In the future, we’d like to take maximum advantage of
this architecture, making other agendas and information available to the general public on the Esri
platform."

Our Solution
Standard components provided by the Esri platform were used as much as possible when developing the applications:
- ArcGIS Enterprise and Experience Builder provide the presentation of geospatial data to the general public, while allowing for quick and flexible building of web mapping
applications - The solution commissioned by TSK employs standard Esri platform components to the maximum extent possible: mapping services for web-based mapping applications are built and published in ArcGIS Pro, and its front end has been built in Experience Builder
- Using Microsoft Azure to install all the solution components spares the customer any headaches concerning infrastructure management, allowing them to flexibly scale server performance.
- Azure Event Hub and ArcGIS Enterprise are powerful components of the replication line, used to receive, process, and store data sent from CDSw.
The execution was divided into four basic stages:
- Specifying the solution in the target concept
- Building the replication line
- Building web-based mapping applications
- Testing
After the analytical phase, the solution implementation took half a year.
Employed Technology and Unique Nature of Solution:
- ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3
- ArcGIS Pro 3.3
- ArcGIS Experience Builder Developer Edition
- Microsoft Azure, including Azure SQL Database and Event Hub
- C# programming language for the Microsoft platform
- .NET 8
While this solution is based on Esri and Microsoft components, it also employs a custom-developed replication line and web-based mapping applications.
About Technical Administration of Roads of the Capital City of Prague
Technical Road Administration of the Capital City of Prague is a joint-stock company whose founder and sole shareholder is the City of Prague.
The company was established primarily to manage, maintain, repair, and further develop real estate assets, which include secondary and tertiary roads, local roads, and selected purpose-built roads within the territory of the capital city. Its responsibilities also include providing services related to the management of these real estate assets, as well as carrying out design, traffic engineering, and civil engineering activities.
